Certified Organic Delp-Hale canning peaches are about to be picked at Rest Awhile Orchards.  They are the first peach of the season that is grown specifically for canning, though we've been eating Reginas this week from Calhouhn Family Fruit in Wapato, and as an early freestone they have been favored by many a canner since back in the day when my Grandma was breaking out the jars, rings and lids to put by some peaches for Winter eating.  We'll have a few of those left in the stand this week, but not enough to sell by the box, but how's about a pie or cobbler?

If you do want to can peaches this summer and want an early start at it Delp-Hales have an old-fashioned peach flavor and their dense flesh holds up great swimming in simple syrup and a hot-water bath, so now is the time put in your order.  We'll only bring in what we think we can sell and that will depend on how many people we hear from in the next week.  If you are holding out for another variety, let us know so we can keep you in mind as the season moves quickly along.

Enjoy!
